One of you sees a secret spot. The other finds it from one clue.
Each card has two ends, like Cold and Hot. One of you sees a hidden spot between them and gives a short clue; the other turns the needle to find it. The closer it lands, the more you score together, and you swap every round.

How to play The Dial
- Each round shows a card with two ends, such as Cold and Hot. One of you sees a secret spot on the dial between them.
- That Player types a short clue that sits right at that spot: soup sits near Hot, ice cream near Cold.
- Everyone else turns a needle to where they think the spot is and locks it. Then the spot sweeps in: within 4 scores 10, within 10 scores 6, within 18 scores 3.
Before you start
- How do two people score?
- Together. The needle's points go to both of you. A pair plays six rounds and swaps who gives the clue every round, so you each give three.
- Can a group play?
- Yes, two to eight. Everyone gives one clue, up to six rounds. Each guesser scores their own needle, and the one who gave the clue gets the average of the guesses.
- What makes a good clue?
- A thing, not a number: a food, a film, a habit, a place. The fun is in arguing about where it sits.
- Is The Dial free?
- Yes. It runs in the browser on a phone or computer, with no download, no account and nothing to pay. One person starts a Room and sends the link.
